Trespasser of the Sunken Court

The story

Legend says nobody who enters the sunken court walks out again. A thief goes in anyway, chasing a stone, and forgets it the moment he sees the woman who rules the place.

She finds him kneeling in her garden and asks what he really came for. He answers that he is looking at it. Rather than kill him, she announces that he now belongs to her.

Episode 2 turns the sentence into lessons. She orders him to his knees to learn his place, and he claims to be a quick study. Then a servant says the princess's betrothed has sent for her, and a whispered warning follows: if the thief is discovered, they both die.

The characters

• The goddess: Rules the sunken court, has a betrothed waiting, and keeps her new captive close.

Why watch it

If you like fantasy romance where the power sits entirely on one side and the lead is fine with it, this is your lane. A goddess with a temper, a thief with a mouth and a betrothed who could walk in at any moment keep it tense. Episode 1 is where his death sentence gets rewritten.
