The Prince's Last Week Unwed

The story

On the eve of a royal wedding, the prince is about to marry Princess Maren when his stepcousin arrives after four days of riding.

At the tournament, the champion's ribbon goes to the stepcousin instead of the bride, and the court reads it as a declaration. Later she reminds him of a night long ago and says she wants him again. She will find him at the feast, and he is free to abandon his bride alone at the table.

Bride and prince trade promises about tomorrow night, and Maren hints she may knock early. At the feast the stepcousin asks if Maren would mind, claims the fiancé and coaxes the prince behind a curtain before the cups run dry.
