The King's Chambermaid

The story

The queen sends her chambermaid to dress the king as the harvest court begins, with no orders to hurry. He sends her to fetch his ring, and when an angry noble raises a hand against her, he warns he will take the hand. Asked how he can see her again, she says she turns down his bed at midnight. His reply: be in it.

In episode 2 she tells the king she has admired him from the kitchen, because he alone in the castle thanks servants. He warns that it could get her hanged, and she answers that the risk is worth it. Then the queen reaches the locked door, and the king answers that he sleeps alone.
