The story

Mark's son Jason is getting married, and his fiancée has moved into the house until the ceremony. Mark's wife asks him for an honest opinion on the rehearsal-dinner dress, which Jason thinks is too short. Mark says it isn't, and that Jason has simply never met anyone like her. She turns the question back on him. Jason leaves for work again, and the fiancée asks Mark alone about tomorrow's final fitting.

Episode 2 sends him to help with a garter while his wife handles the florist. She asks whether his son deserves her in this dress. Mark says no. Ten days from the vows, she calls it the final chance to speak up, and Mark does.

The characters

Mark: The narrator, a husband and father who keeps being asked for opinions he should dodge
The fiancée: Jason's bride-to-be, staying in the house and turning every dress fitting into a test
Jason: Mark's son, the groom, who always seems to be working late when it matters

Why watch it

Slow-burn near misses are the specialty here: a father-in-law who keeps saying the right words, a bride-to-be who keeps asking for the wrong opinion and a wedding countdown. The fitting-room scenes carry the tension. Everything in episode 1 hangs on one dress and one zipper, which is plenty to get hooked.
