Dragon Queen's Dark Desire

The story

Colette is expected to become queen, but without the ability to shift into a dragon she never will be, and so far she cannot. Her engagement is already under strain when her mother proposes a solution: a warlock healer. He examines her arm, says clothing hides the spell from him, and asks for bare skin. Colette agrees to undress and tells him to watch.

When the cure proves stubborn, he concedes he cannot lift the curse by himself and leads her to Agatha, who cultivates the single ingredient it needs. Agatha has dreamed of royalty for years. Colette points out that she has a fiancé, and a loophole gets proposed.

The characters

• Colette: Heir to the throne who cannot yet take dragon form and is engaged to someone else.
• The warlock healer: Confident and hands-on, he needs bare skin to find the spell holding her back.
• Agatha: Grower of the key ingredient that undoes the spell, with a lifelong fantasy about royalty.
