The Gods Gave Me My Father's Wife

The story

King Evian presents his new queen, Lysandra, to his son, and both go still: she is the woman who has been visiting the prince's dreams. An oracle declares that a serpent has entered the royal bed and the kingdom will fall, and the king has her escorted out.

The two admit they've been sharing the same visions.

Aphrodite visited Lysandra too, and the oracle was cut off before the prophecy ended. Its missing half names the prince as the man who will take the queen and the throne. She married the king to find out if her dream lover existed. Locked in a chamber by the gods, they weigh giving the heavens the show they wanted.
