Whatever Your Stepmom Says

The story

Dad is leaving with one new law: his wife runs the house. She is 22, he is a grown man, and her word is final. First, his phone lives in the kitchen. Second, he knocks before entering her room. The third waits.

She mentions that his father usually holds her legs when she stretches, then orders him to take over. Later he watches from her doorway, telling himself she is his stepmom, and realizes she saw him.

In episode 2 she walks into his room. He reminds her she is his father's wife. She counters that he was at her door ten minutes ago, admits she liked being watched, and reveals the third rule: he watches on her terms.

The characters

• The stepmom: 22, left in charge, and enjoying every rule she gets to invent.
• Her stepson: A grown man ordered to obey and torn about wanting to.
• Dad: Heading away from home, the man who hands over the house.

Why watch it

Power games between adults under one roof: a stepmom with the authority, a stepson with the guilt, and a father who just headed out. The hook is a rule list that keeps growing. Episode 1 is where the first two rules and a missed knock collide.
