Under Her Watch

The story

At the club pool, a man goes under and Sophie pulls him out, talking him through his breathing with calm authority. The next day the boss introduces him as the newest cabana boy and her husband's nephew, so everyone is being welcoming. Sophie claims him for herself before the boss can send him to deck duty, and the boss warns the staff to keep it professional.

In episode 2 fellow staffer Brooklyn interrupts, and Sophie tells her to wait her turn. The first lesson is water safety certification: CPR and mouth-to-mouth, with Sophie signing off. She dismisses the practice dummy and tells him to lie down as her patient.

The characters

• Sophie: Staffer who rescues him, claims him as her trainee, and makes every lesson personal.
• The cabana boy: Nearly drowned, newly hired, and introduced as the boss's husband's nephew to a very welcoming staff.
• Brooklyn: Coworker who walks in on the lesson and hints she wants a turn later.
