The Open House

The story

The husband loves it, the wife loves it, and the realtor loves the idea of splitting them up. While the wife measures the kitchen, the realtor takes the husband upstairs and shows him the sunny windows, the plentiful light and the lock on the bedroom door. She asks how long the couple has been married, then asks whether the honeymoon is over. Eventually she shows him the room she saves for husbands.

Episode 2 opens with the husband stunned that a realtor is interested. Downstairs, his wife wonders why the door is locked, and he hovers between guilt and temptation. The realtor shrugs it off, sizes up a bed, and insists they do not have much time.

The characters

• The realtor: Confident, flirty and in control of every key, door and bedroom on the tour.
• The husband: House-hunting with his wife, tempted, flustered and bad at pretending nothing is happening.
• The wife: Measuring the kitchen and picturing a home, unaware of the private tour upstairs.

Why watch it

The danger of being nearly caught is the pull here: a husband, a wife a few steps away, and a realtor who handles every door. The mood is playful and tense at once. Start episode 1 to see how a house hunt turns into something no inspection covers.
