The story

Slade is invited to a beach house for the summer break, to meet his girlfriend Gretchen, her father Hunter and her stepmom Holly. Holly is nothing like what he pictured, and he turns nervous. Then Gretchen introduces her best friend Brittany, and a question about whether anyone looks familiar leads to an uneasy truth.

The follow-up connects the dots: Slade remembers Holly and Brittany dancing on a stage at a strip club near Montauk. Holly asks him to keep her old life from her husband, and promises a surprise in return. When a Ferris wheel ride pairs him with Holly, she says nobody can see them up there.

Holly: Gretchen's stepmom, a former dancer whose husband knows nothing about that chapter.

Gretchen: Slade's girlfriend, who happily sends him on the Ferris wheel with her stepmom.
