Room for Two

The story

Sonia shows up to view a room, only to hear it was rented that morning to a woman who arrived early and argued her case well.

Sonia wants a chance to argue too. The landlord lets her in while the new tenant calls for a towel from the shower.

Then his girlfriend calls: she is off work and coming over. When she hears two women are after one room, she wants to see it for herself.

Sonia learns about the girlfriend and makes her pitch anyway: she will beat whatever the morning applicant offered, as long as it happens before the girlfriend arrives.

The characters

• Sonia: A late applicant who refuses to lose the room without a fight.
• The landlord: One room, two applicants and a girlfriend arriving in twenty minutes.
• The first tenant: Got the room at dawn and already acts like she owns the shower.
