Yes, Coach

The story

Late in the game, trailing by four, a handoff is called. The rookie spots an opening and goes off script, as usual. The team wins, and a teammate who wanted the ball starts a fight. Coach breaks it up and says it was not the play she called. He thinks she looks great when angry, then learns the owner is her husband.

Coach Diana sends him up the stairs, then to her office for punishment.

There she says he likes doing things his own way and has him kneel to clean the uniforms alone. She goes to shower before the after party, where he will not be. Then she invites him in, and he says, "Yes, ma'am."

The characters

• Coach Diana: Head coach, strict and amused, married to the team's owner and used to being obeyed.
• The rookie: Called Rook, he wins the game off script and pays for it with an evening of chores.
• The team owner: Her husband and the club's boss, a man the rookie cannot afford to cross.
