Step-Sister's Secret

The story

She says it out loud: she wants her stepsister's fiancé, and in her head she has already gone far beyond wanting. He drives her through the pines, told to go the long way round, and his eyes keep leaving the road. Back home, her stepsister asks how the ride went, and the narrator jokes that sharing runs in the family.

Episode 2 replays what she overheard: her stepsister asking him whether he would like her, and him not saying no. There was a shower, fogged glass, a door opened wider, and a woman who chose not to stop any of it. Then the stepsister walks in and asks one direct question about him.

The characters

• The narrator: A woman telling her story while still caught up in a fantasy about her stepsister's fiancé
• Her stepsister: Engaged and strangely relaxed about sharing her fiancé; she may be steering the whole thing
• The fiancé: The man in the middle, behind the wheel and slow to say no

Why watch it

Three-way tension is the draw: an engaged stepsister who lends her fiancé out, a narrator with a secret and a story told after the fact, so you are always a step behind. It leans on the setup more than any single scene. The drive in episode 1 is the way in.
