Bonnie Blue is My Stepsister

The story

Bonnie Blue, internet-famous and unbothered, lands on the doorstep for a few weeks. She asks whether her stepbrother has watched her videos. He hasn't, and she cuts off his awkward expression before it finishes.

Alone, he asks about the number that follows her around. She answers straight-faced and says he would have been next, then tells him he may look, since everybody does. He insists he is not everybody. She points out that he lives here.

Next morning she mentions the door he closed on her last night, a first for her, and one she disliked. Her secret: she has never tried family. He says they aren't family. She says step still counts.
