One-Night Stand Is My Friend's Stepmom

The story

Three weeks ago in Cabo, Danny spent a night with a woman on one condition: no swapping names or numbers. Now he arrives at his friend Luke's place with wine, and she opens the door, dressed for a hot kitchen rather than for company.

Luke introduces Marisa as his stepmom, then goes to clean up before dinner. Alone, Danny swears he had no idea. Neither did she. She admits she told her sister about him with no name to offer.

She is married, but her husband is gone until the month ends. Both agree no one can know. Then Luke calls out about a missing hoodie, Marisa catches Danny staring again, and she nods toward the laundry room.

The characters

• Danny: Luke's buddy, who came for dinner and found his anonymous Cabo hookup cooking it.
• Marisa: Luke's married stepmom, still thinking about Cabo every night despite every reason to forget.
• Luke: Danny's friend and Marisa's stepson, busy showering and hunting for a hoodie, none the wiser.

Why watch it

Worth a look if you like a secret shared by two people in a house where the third has no clue. Cabo is the backstory, but the dinner is the pressure cooker, with Luke wandering in and out and her husband out of town. Episode 1 plays the reunion straight and ends on an open offer.
