I Dated My Best Friend Mom

The story

It begins on a dating app. Tyler spots a profile on Jake's phone and orders him to swipe left, because that woman is his mom. Jake nods, and swipes right anyway.

Soon he is at Tyler's place for a sleepover, face to face with Mrs. Josie, who looks better in person than in her photos. She goes off to prepare a room, and Jake mutters that he hopes Tyler never finds out. Josie, meanwhile, knows exactly who swiped right and asks if he likes what he sees.

Then the hint gets louder. Tyler waits in another room, Josie mentions a shower and how dull it is alone, and Jake slips away wondering if she actually wants him.

The characters

• Jake: The houseguest who lied about his swipe and now has to sleep under her roof.
• Mrs. Josie: Tyler's mom, relaxed and playful, who clearly knows who matched with her.
• Tyler: Jake's best friend, oblivious, who wants him to hurry up and come on.
